International Press Corps (IPC)

About the committee:

This year, IPC will be returning after a year of hiatus better than ever! As a committee, you will begin reporting on the conference the second it starts, capturing key moments from your fellow committees, describing debated issues in detail, and presenting your excellent writing skills to the entire conference population. Our International Press Corps committee does not function in the same way as other conferences: instead of representing an individual news organization, all IPC delegates will be working as a board of writers and editors for The Working Paper, MUNUM’s editorial paper covering all conference happenings. You will also be working with video editing, putting together MUNUM XXXVII’s closing ceremonies video, which will not only be a fantastic opportunity to learn about video software, but also provide a fun experience and help you bond with your fellow delegates.

A letter from the dais:

Hi delegates! My name is Jamie Feuerman, and I am proud to be the director of the International Press Corps for MUNUM XXXVII. I’m a junior at U-M, majoring in Communication and Media Studies and Political Science and I’m from Boca Raton, Florida. I’ve been involved in Model UN since my freshman year of high school, and this is my third year on MUNUM staff. Alongside being a director for IPC, I’m in the Secretariat as the Secretary of Publicity, which means I’m in charge of posting announcements about the conference to our social media accounts, ordering MUNUM merch, creating the opening ceremonies video, and everything else that comes with the job! I encourage all delegates to check out our Instagram page, @munum1987, as well as on our Facebook.

Hello Delegates! I’m Lauren Taylor, and am the Assistant Director of IPC! I am a sophomore, majoring in International Relations and Asian Language and Cultures with a focus on South Korea and a minor in translations and from Lansing, Michigan (way too close to MSU). I’ve never been in Model UN nor any debate team and I’m here for new experiences and vibes, but I was a Rapp for IPC last year and I’m so excited to be doing it again!

As a committee, you will begin reporting on the conference the second it starts, capturing key moments from your fellow committees, describing debated issues in detail, and presenting your excellent writing skills to the entire conference population. Although our International Press Corps committee does not function in the same way as other conferences, the format of the conference will still provide all of our delegates with fun, educational experiences nonetheless. Instead of representing an individual news organization, all IPC delegates will be working as a board of editors for The Working Paper, MUNUM’s editorial paper covering all conference happenings. You will also be working with video editing, putting together MUNUM XXXVII’s closing ceremonies video, which will not only be a fantastic opportunity to learn about video software, but also provide a fun experience and help you bond with your fellow delegates.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me via email, at jamiefeu@umich.edu. I’m so excited to meet all of you and work with you during the conference!

Best,

Jamie Feuerman
