Ad Hoc

About the Committee:

The Ad-Hoc committee is the prime opportunity for delegates to exemplify their quick thinking, adaptation, and creativity. The topic will be published 24 hours before the conference, and each delegate will need to put together a strategy to succeed with this quick turn-around. Although primarily recommended for more experienced delegates, everyone is welcome to test the waters of an ad-hoc committee. As different crisis situations emerge, alliances are formed and dissolved, and all delegates continue to try to resolve the main issues at hand, delegates will have an exciting experience working in the Ad-Hoc committee.

A LETTER FROM THE DaiS:

Dear Delegates,

Welcome! My name is Anastasiya Ilkiv, and I will be serving as one of your co-directors of [REDACTED]. I am so excited to meet all of you and help drive the debate of this topic. This is my second year working on the MUNUM staff, and my first time helping direct a committee. I am certain that we will have an incredibly successful and exciting committee, and I am excited to see your creative solutions to the complex issues at hand. Outside of MUNUM, I am a junior studying economics and political science, hoping to attend law school after undergrad. On campus, I’m involved in a variety of organizations ranging from the University’s competitive Model UN team, an Ethical Investments organization, and recreational tennis team. Again, I can not wait to work with all of you during the MUNUM XXXVII weekend, and please, do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

My name is Whitney Hejmanowski, your other co-director. This is my third year on the MUNUM staff and my second time as a director. I am particularly excited to head up this committee, as the [REDACTED] has always been a favorite topic of mine, one that at times seems almost hard to believe! Outside committee, I am a Junior majoring in economics and political science with minors in creative writing and public policy. I also enjoy competing with the university’s competitive MUN team, marking seven years of MUN participation that continues to thrill my inner history nerd. When not MUN’ing, my hobbies include writing sketch comedy, improv, and rug-making. This committee will undoubtedly keep you on your toes, and I am so excited to see what chaos you all dream up during committee! Best of luck!

We are so excited to welcome you to our committee and look forward to seeing you in January!

Best,

The Staff of [REDACTED]
