Jimmy Carter’s Cabinet

About the Committee:

The year is 1977, and Washington DC has a new king. For the first time in nearly a decade, Democrats have control of both houses of Congress and the presidency. The era of Watergate is over, and the future looks bright for the American people. Yet despite the optimism in the air, problems are quickly mounting. Inflation and unemployment are sky high, and energy prices remain inflated after the 1973 oil crisis. Simultaneously, the cold war is far from ending, and in the never ending race to destroy the Soviet Union, America has started to call some rather unsavory figures close allies. At the same time, Israel still occupies the Sinai Peninsula, and the Middle East is always on the brink of another war. Jimmy Carter’s ragtag cabinet has their work cut out for them, and the fate of America and the Cold War now rests in their hands.

A LETTER FROM THE DaiS:

Hello Delegates,

My name is Dillon Hollingsworth and I will be serving as your director for Jimmy Carter's Cabinet. I cannot wait to dive into this pivotal moment in American history with you. I am a junior from the Chicagoland suburbs studying computer engineering with a minor in history. I have been doing Model UN since freshman year in high school and last year, I had the fantastic opportunity to serve as a rapporteur in the WW1 JCC (Go Austria-Hungary). Outside of MUNUM, I’m a part of Blacksmithing club, Backpacking club, and Michigan Vertical Flight Technology. In my free time, I love to sail Lake Michigan, ride my bike, and play with my two Bichon-Frises. I cannot wait to see all of your smiling faces. If you have any questions about the committee, drone avionics, or the Great Smoky Mountains feel free to reach out.

Best,

The Staff of Jimmy Carter’s Cabinet
