Director: Tim Bennett
My name is Tim Bennett and I will be directing the International Press Corps. for MUNUM XXXI. On behalf of our dedicated team, I would like to welcome you warmly to IPC! We look forward to working with you all as you develop your journalism skill through thorough investigation and coverage of important issues that your fellow delegate will be addressing during the conference
I am currently a sophomore studying History and Italian, but am not originally from Ann Arbor. I graduated from Forest Hills Central High School in Grand Rapids, MI. Outside of MUNUM, I am highly involved in Angels on Call, a philanthropic a cappella group on campus, as well as the environmentally and socially-minded club Net Impact. This will be my second year as both MUNUM and IPC staff.
IPC is quite different from the other committees at MUNUM. Here, delegates will not debate topics and pass resolutions as they might in a more traditional committee. Rather, they will be acting as journalists for the conference, covering the developments of various committees and councils. all of your written work will be posted online and printed daily in a conference-wide newsletter, The Working Paper. Towards the end of conference, delegates will also script and film a short video highlighting the key events of the weekend, which will be screened at Closing Ceremonies.
Please be sure to take a look at the Background Guide (available above) for a more detailed look at the structure and function of IPC. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!
